Hello,
Welcome
to another edition of Joshua's Journal.
In this issue, we
will be discussing Mel Gibson's new
movie and giving you some very
interesting links to use. We have
our usual Quick Quotes,
which seem to be getting longer and
there is news of new titles.
Some
very exciting news is that I am finalising
negotiations to
distribute all the titles of a particular
controversial author.
(Actually, it's still hush-hush but
I can let you in on it now). He
is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Now
let's get on with this issue….

1)
THE PASSION
Unless
you have really dropped out of society
and live in some
remote part of the world without radio,
TV and newspapers, I am sure
you have already been inundated with
interviews and comments on Mel
Gibson's new movie *The Passion of
the Christ* and formed some
opinion on it. I saw it a few days
ago and, as an item of interest,
I have included in this edition's
Interesting Links a press release
from Uri Dowbenko of Steam Shovel
Press.
I
do not take any position on Uri's
article and pass it on as the
movie is a hot topic right now and
we like our newsletters to inform
and possibly open up debate.
The
movie is violent beyond my imagination
and, short of depicting a
real death by violence and torture
on screen, I could not think of
anything that could come close. Why
did Mel bother to make the
movie? Perhaps Uri's article goes
towards answering that question.
As
publisher of *The Bible Fraud* and
*The Secret in the Bible* by
Tony Bushby, I have intimate knowledge
of the depth of research that
Tony undertook over almost 20 years
to produce these books and it can
be said that both Tony and Mel could
definitely not both be right.
*The
Bible Fraud* is thoroughly researched
and Tony's sources are very
well documented and it challenges
the validity and interpretation of
the Gospels. If you have not read
this sensational book, then
consider doing so. I would really
like to get a copy into Mel's
hands and let him comment. Have you
any idea how we can do that?
Perhaps
Mel Gibson or his father will joint
the debate. Bushby Vs.
Gibson: Now that is real world title
stuff.
My personal opinion is that Jesus
was a highly evolved being whose
words can guide us to an understanding
of our spiritual essence and
thus make us more effective beings
on this journey. The whole basis
of Christianity is a virgin birth
and a resurrection and I cannot buy
either.
I
will leave it at that. I would love
your feedback even if you do
not agree with me. We may consider
publishing all the replies in a
future newsletter if there is enough
interest. My personal email
address is john@joshuabooks.com

INTERESTING LINKS
Neither
Joshua Books nor I necessarily agree
with the content of the
websites provided in Joshua's Journal;
however, it's all food for
thought and helps promote healthy
debate.
PAULA PETERSON of Earthcode International

balanced view on life and her comments
on various subjects are always
worth reading. Here she and others

RULES FOR BEING HUMAN
This
is a short article we received on
the Earth Code International
Network newsletter. Isn't it funny
how it rings true once you have
some years of experience under your
belt? I think I might print it
out and put it on the wall in front
of my desk.
**
YOU WILL RECEIVE A BODY. You may like
it or hate it, but it will be
yours for the entire period of this
time around.
**
YOU WILL LEARN LESSONS. You are enrolled
in a full-time informal
school called Life. Each day in this
school you will have the
opportunity to learn lessons. You
may like the lessons or think them
irrelevant and stupid.
**
THERE ARE NO MISTAKES, ONLY LESSONS.
Growth is a process of trial
and error: Experimentation. The "failed"
experiments are as much a
part of the process as the experiment
that ultimately "works."
**
A LESSON IS REPEATED UNTIL LEARNED.
A lesson will be presented to
you in various forms until you have
learned it. When you have learned
it, you can then go on to the next
lesson.
**
LEARNING LESSONS DOES NOT END. There
is no part of life that does
not contain its lessons. If you are
alive, there are lessons to be
learned.
**
"THERE" IS NO BETTER THAN
"HERE." When your "there"
has become a
"here," you will simply
obtain another "there" that
will again look
better than "here."
**
OTHERS ARE MERELY MIRRORS OF YOU.
You cannot love or hate something
about another person unless it reflects
something you love or hate
about yourself.
**
WHAT YOU MAKE OF YOUR LIFE IS UP TO
YOU. You have all the tools and
resources you need. What you do with
them is up to you. The choice is
yours.
**
THE ANSWERS YOU SEEK ARE INSIDE YOU.
The answers to life's
questions
lie inside you. All you need to do
is look, listen, and trust.
**
YOU WILL FORGET ALL THIS.

MORE ON FLOWERS
Wise
sayings can be a great source of inspiration
and *Flowers from
the Tree of Wisdom* by Eslandar de
Vos contains the most inspiring
ones he was able to find over a period
of ten years. I highly
recommend it as a gift for someone
special and I think it is the type
of book everyone should have on their
bedside table.
Here
is what Sir William from the Bay of
Islands in New Zealand had
to say about the book...
"The
book is stylishly and attractively
designed, from cover to
pagination. The author's industry
and care in culling these landmarks
largely from the wisdom of our forebears
have resulted in a
stimulating collection of thoughts
and ideas, which resonate in the
mind at many levels. A good browse
and a pleasure to have on the
bookshelves."
-- Sir W. K. CBE (Judge - retired)

5)
QUICK QUOTES (and some not so quick)
"Confront
the dark parts of yourself, and work
to banish them with
illumination and forgiveness. Your
willingness to wrestle with your
demons will cause your angels to sing.
Use the pain as fuel, as a
reminder of your strength"
--August Wilson
"No lions are ever caught in
mousetraps. To catch lions you must
think in terms of lions, not in terms
of mice. Your mind is always
creating traps of one kind or another,
and what you catch depends on
the thinking you do. It is your thinking
that attracts to you what
you receive"
-- Thomas Dreier (Author)
"Fame
is a vapour, popularity is an accident,
money takes wings,
those who cheer you today may curse
you tomorrow. The only thing that
endures is character"
--Horace Greeley
And finally, some insight from *Flowers
from the Tree of Wisdom* by
Eskandar de Voss…
***
"When faced with the choice of
being right and being kind,
choose the kind option every time"
-- Wayne Dyer
***
"My judgements prevent me from
seeing the good that lies beyond
appearances"
-- Wayne Dyer
***
"If you trust yourself, you trust
the wisdom that created you"
-- Wayne Dyer

NEW RELEASES
In
the last edition of Joshua's Journal,
I covered the new releases
of...
RISKING
BEING ALIVE by James Oldham, Yaro
Starak and Tony Key is a
collection of ideas, experiments and
readings which introduce
psychological tools that can be used
to increase the sharpness with
which you see and relate to the world.
This book is regarded as one
of the best books ever written on
Gestalt Therapy.
See http://www.joshuabooks.com/author_ys.htm
SMILE
LITTLE CHILDREN by Susanne Anderson
is a book about love and
life. Within each of us is a child
that knows only love in expressing
true feelings. Our hearts are our
souls - the essence of our beings.
By expressing unconditional love,
we break down the barriers and
human limitations that we impose on
our selves through fear and
doubt.
See http://www.joshuabooks.com/author_sa.htm
And
finally FLOWERS FROM THE TREE OF WISDOM.
This is mentioned in
Section 3 above
See http://www.joshuabooks.com/author_edv.htm
In
the next few days, our Webmaster will
be putting additional titles
on the website. Just before this happens,
I will put out another
edition of Joshua's Journal to give
you all the details on these new
books. Be sure to drop by our website
to have a look.
See http://www.joshuabooks.com/
********************************
I will be devoting next issue of Joshua's
journal to a new
book on numerology which interprets
the numbers in a way that it has
never been done. The book is "Action
Attraction Integration" by
Christopher Power. We also hope to
have an excellent article on "The
Arthurian Legend" also written
by Christopher in the next issue.
As
usual, I'm sure you will find it interesting.
Just
reminder again… if you have
some links or articles that you
think our readers would find interesting,
you are very welcome to
pass them on to me at admin@joshuabooks.com
