Hello,

How did you enjoy the holiday season? Did you spend it with friends
and family as I did? It certainly is a lovely time of year to bring
us all together in an atmosphere of love and friendship.

Did you have snow? Where I am in my part of the world, we had lots
of sunshine and surf. Even though we had 35-degree (Celsius) heat,
the roast turkey was appreciated as always.

This is going to be a thrilling year for us as I hope it will be
for you. We have great plans with some exciting things in the wings
so expect updates in coming issues of Joshua's Journal.

Do you like our format of our newsletter? Please let me know on
admin@joshuabooks.com Of course, any ideas to improve the content
will be appreciated.

A word about our content. The articles and information you will
find in our newsletter are provided for your enjoyment and
enlightenment. You may not agree with some of the ideas but they
are provided as a source of information to assist you along your
journey in life. At Joshua Books, our motto is "making a difference"
and that's what we aim to do. If you read something you fervently
disagree with, we have done our job. You should then have the
motivation to do your own investigation by reading more books or
talking to friends and colleagues or just doing a search on the net.

Now on with the first issue for this year …..

1) 10 GOOD THINGS ABOUT A BAD YEAR
By Medea Benjamin, AlterNet
January 1, 2004

No two ways about it, 2003 was a demoralizing year for those of us
working for peace and justice. With George Bush in the White House,
Arnold Schwarzenegger in the California State House, and Paul Bremer
ruling Iraq, it was a chore just to get out of bed each morning. But
get out of bed we did, and we spent our days educating, strategizing,
organizing and mobilizing. As we greet the New Year, let's remember
and celebrate some of our hard-fought victories in a time of
adversity.

3) QUICK QUOTES

"The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else
up."
--Mark Twain

"Believe in yourself in whatever you do, each challenge that comes
will begin something new."
-- Serena Giselle McRury

"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark. The real
tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light."
-- Plato

And finally, some insight from *Flowers from the Tree of Wisdom* by
Eskandar de Voss

*** "If you saw yourself as God sees you, you would smile a lot."

*** "Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do
while it doesn't get you anywhere."

*** "It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice."

4) THE SECRET UPDATE

We are proud to see *The Secret in the Bible* by Tony Bushby at
number nine on Adyar's best selling list (Adyar is Australia's leading
esoteric book store). This is some achievement as complemented by the
thousands of copies sold worldwide since its release less than two
months ago.

Tony Bushby and Joshua Books are really making a difference by
giving people a reason to question established belief patterns and
thereby challenging themselves to grow through enlightened thought.

It all started with *The Bible Fraud* and now this sensational and
acclaimed follow up book *The Secret in the Bible*. It is interesting
to note that we have not received one email or letter about *The
Secret* that does not applaud the value and importance of the book,
which is the result of almost 20 years of full time research by the
author.

For more info, go to http://www.joshuabooks.com

Have you uncovered the secret in the Bible? What are your thoughts
on this remarkable book? Do you feel it complements *The Bible
Fraud*? Let me know at admin@joshuabooks.com

5) MICHAEL'S STORY

Here is the last of our three winners in our competition "How my life
changed after reading *The Bible Fraud*. As he says, Michael Symonds
has spent a lifetime searching for the truth and reading this book
has helped his strengthen his faith in the truth.

"After spending a lifetime searching the gospels and going from
church to church. Listening to the message from their various points
of view. I felt refreshed and even vindicated when I read that they
had all been instrumental in a vast conspiracy to hide the truth in
order to maintain a lifestyle of power and luxury. At the age of 60
years I was beginning to think that there was a conspiracy in every
dark corner. Tony Bushby's book "The Bible Fraud" first frightened me
and after reading the reviews I thought to myself, "What could he
have turned up that all the World's great bible scholars have missed
?" I smirked at it at first but being a sincere seeker of truth I had
to settle that enquiring part of my mind; what I call the Spirit of
Truth. I mulled over it for quite some time and wondered what he
could tell me that I didn't already know. But it was no use wondering
about it, it got the better of me and I had to purchase it for peace
of mind.

As I read I cross checked with the internet and found the actual
house in Rome where Jesus stayed with his family. I checked some
British history on Bran the Blessed and also the history of the first
church of Rome. I was amazed at how much information could be gleaned
from the internet after the guiding hand of Tony Bushby pushed me
into the right direction.

I was ecstatic in the fact that Bushby did not set out to prove that
Jesus did not exist, on the contrary he proved that Jesus was an
actual person. He did what I wished I could have done long ago. It
excited me that even though a Druid, Jesus was a revealer of truth
and had a revelation worthy to be a greater religion than
Christianity itself.

My life has been changed to the degree that now when I read the
sayings of Jesus I know where he was coming from. The secret sayings
of Jesus in the Thomas Gospel make sense now. Why he was considered a
king and actually was a King in Britain. I have been a reader of the
Urantia book for many years but found it too fantastic to gain much
in the way of truth; however after reading the book "The Bible Fraud"
by Tony Bushby I was drawn to a single verse in the UB that had made
little sense to me before. It reports that Jesus held a meeting in
Herod's new Palace. It was for the whole apostolic party but
strangely put in the hands of Women who were not allowed to preach in
the synagogue here is the verse:

P.1680 - §3 The Sabbath services of the apostolic party had been put
in the hands of the women by Andrew, upon instructions from Jesus.
This meant, of course, that they could not be held in the new
synagogue. The women selected Joanna to have charge of this occasion,
and the meeting was held in the banquet room of Herod's new palace,
Herod being away in residence at Julias in Perea. Joanna read from
the Scriptures concerning woman's work in the religious life of
Israel, making reference to Miriam, Deborah, Esther, and others.

I am indebted to Tony for his work in this revelation of truth and
admire his resolve against the fraud perpetrated by the churches. If
he lived in the middle ages his body would have burnt at the stake.
Far from turning me into a an Atheist Tony's book has strengthened my
faith in the truth. I am looking forward now to reading his new book."

Thank you Michael for sharing your thoughts with us and please enjoy
your special copy of *the Secret in the Bible* with our compliments.
