Hello
Folks,
There has been a delay is getting
this issue out to you as we have
been having some challenges with everything
from computer failures to
computer upgrades so I ask you to
bear with us during our transition
period. (Apologies to anyone who has
previously unsubscribed and is
still receiving this newsletter. Just
click on the link at the end of
this issue.)
At Joshua Books, we don't mean to
offend anyone and we believe it's
beneficial for everyone to read material
with other points of view.
(I will cover this topic in more depth
in a future issue.)
So, in this issue of Joshua's Journal,
you will find some news on
new releases and an article on one
of our best sellers, *The Bible
Fraud*. For those of you who haven't
read it, I encourage you to do
so. You will need to have an open
mind on this one as it will
probably raise more questions than
you had before you read it.
Now, on with this issue……

1) CHANGES FOR THE BETTER
I mentioned in our last issue that
we are changing over to an
automatic system for the maintenance
of our subscriber list and the
transmission of our newsletter. It
is called a double opt-in system and
one of its many advantages is that
it allows you to have control over
whether you want to get on or off
our subscriber list. Your details
(name & email address) are held
securely and will never be sold or
given to a third party.
So, within the next few days, you
will receive an automated email
message. All you have to do to stay
on our subscriber list and
continue receiving this newsletter
is to click on the link provided
in the message. If you don't, you
wont and that's that!
I hope I didn't lose anybody with
the explanation but it's really
quite simple to operate. When you
do click on the link, you will
receive a message confirming your
placement and will be given the
opportunity to download and print
out a transcript of a rare
interview with that elusive writer,
Tony Bushby who is the author of
*The Bible Fraud*. It makes very interesting
reading.

2) QUICK QUOTES
"One's dignity may be assaulted,
vandalized and cruelly mocked, but
cannot be taken away unless it is
surrendered."
-- Michael J. Fox - Actor
"Heresy is another word for freedom
of thought."
--Graham Greene
"Excellence - moral, ethical,
personal excellence - is worth
whatever it costs."
-- Charles Swindoll

3) MAREE MOORE INTERVIEW
Did you remember to listen to Maree
being interviewed by James Whale
on his radio show in London on Thursday
17th July? It went for an
hour and Maree did a superb job. She
has such vast knowledge in her area
of interest.
Several listeners rang in and, while
James was in London and Maree
was in Western Australia and speaking
with a listener driving a truck
on a freeway in the middle of England,
we were on the Internet
listening to the program being broadcast
right around the world. Now
that's modern technology for you!!
We are looking forward to Maree's
new book *The Dove, the Rose and
the Sceptre - In Search of the Ark
of the Covenant.* which shall be
available shortly. I will let you
know of the release date in an
upcoming issue of Joshua's Journal.

4) NEW RELEASES
Speaking of new releases, we have
over 14 books in production along
with 3 CDs. There are some good new
titles on the way and the one I
would like to mention is this issue
is *Flowers from the Tree of
Wisdom* by Eskandar deVos.
Eskandar is a young man from Brisbane
Australia and he has put
together a beautiful collection of
inspirational words and sayings
that has been described as possibly
the best for a long, long time.
Here are some excerpts from the book
that I really like …..
*** "If you take care of each
moment, you take care of all time"
*** "The Secret of success is
making you vocation your vacation"
*** "God is too big to fit in
to just one religion"
And
rumour has it there is finally a sequel
to "The Bible Fraud*!!!
Watch this space for news on this
one!!!

5) MEL GIBSON
I have just heard that Mel Gibson
is starring in a film called
*Passion* about the last few hours
of Jesus Christ.
Although it's months away from release,
apparently it is already
kicking up a storm over its portrayal
of Jesus.
Some religious groups are concerned
that the film is fuelling anti-
Semitism while others have said the
film is "beautiful" and
"magical." Biblical scholars
have called Gibson's reading of the
New
Testament into question and there
are rumours that the script's
sources allegedly include an 18th-century
Roman Catholic mystic.
Interesting stuff!! But I don't think
they have read Tony Bushby's
*The Bible Fraud*. If they had, it
would be a totally different
story as, according to Tony, no one
dies on the cross!!!

6) OPPOSING VIEWS
At our office, we have received many,
many emails regarding *The
Bible Fraud* coming from all points
of view. Mostly, readers are in
favour of the book and of what Tony
has to say while the very few
emails that we do receive with opposing
views are from those people
who have not actually read the book.
Here are a response from one reader
….
"Hello
Admin,
I think this book is the SILLIEST
thing I've ever heard of! What,
does Tony have too much time on his
hands, and nothing better to do,
so he cooked up this ridiculous book,
to see how many idiots are out
there who will buy it?
The ENTIRE web site is transparent
as all get out! I only hope there
aren't enough naive people out there,
dumb enough to buy this garbage.
As a Christian myself, I think you
all should be ashamed of
yourselves, and I will pray for you!"
E. H. - USA
And here is one which is typical of
many we receive.......
"Hello,
Not since Sitchen came out with his
scholarly work, The 12th Planet
series, has a book gone so far into
our history to shed light on who
we are and where we came from.
They say that we can't know who we
are as a people until we know our
stories and it looks as though our
stories are far different from
what we're being told.
The
clear light of truth shines through
on Bushby's book *The Bible
Fraud* showing us why our fight concerning
religion is so ongoing…
Bushby's book gives us the whole truth
or at least as much of the
truth that's left after all the library
burnings throughout history.
Only by going to sources unavailable
to most of us, could Bushby give
us as much of our history as he did
in his book and I commend his
hard work.
…. Bushby narrates in a way
that makes his book read like a suspense
thriller of the greatest story ever
told.
I eagerly anticipate Bushby's next
book."
Sincerely, R. L. - Kent, Washington,
USA
All I can say is that we welcome all
points of view from our readers
and that you really have to read the
book from cover to cover to make
an educated decision.

7) BEHIND THE FRAUD
*What was the Church trying to hide?*
by Robert Adams
When I first spoke to a close Christian
friend of mine about the
publishing of Tony Bushby's *The Bible
Fraud*, her reaction was one
that many Christians have expressed,
and one that made me aghast. She
didn't want the book available because
it would "persuade them away
from the Bible and the word of God."
Further discussions with her and
many other Christians around the world
about The Bible Fraud all
result in the Bible being quoted as
the ultimate reference for the
apparent "words of God,"
and therefore the basis for their
arguments.
The problem lies in that they believe
the Bible is infallible.
If we examine the oldest known Bible
to date, the "Sinai Bible"
housed in the British Museum (I believe
that, during his many years
of research, Tony had a private viewing
of this priceless book), we
find a staggering 14,800 differences
from today's Bible and yet it
still remains the word of God?
As Tony points out, the history of
our 'genuine' Bibles is a
convoluted one. Firstly we cannot
be sure that we have the full
version as it was originally intended.
In 1415 the Church of Rome
took an extraordinary step to destroy
all knowledge of two second
century Jewish books that it said
contained the true name of Jesus
Christ. The Antipope Benedict XIII
firstly singled out for
condemnation a secret Latin treatise
called "Mar Yesu" and then
issued instructions to destroy all
copies of the book of Elxai. The
Rabbinic fraternity once held the
destroyed manuscripts with great
reverence for they were comprehensive
original records reporting the
life of Rabbi Jesus.
Later, Pope Alexander VI ordered all
copies of the Talmud destroyed,
with the Spanish Grand Inquisitor
Tomas de Torquemada (1420-98)
responsible for the elimination of
6,000 volumes at Salamanca alone.
Solomon Romano (1554) also burnt many
thousands of Hebrew scrolls
and, in 1559, every Hebrew book in
the city of Prague was
confiscated. The mass destruction
of Jewish books included hundreds
of copies of the Old Testament and
caused the irretrievable loss of
many original handwritten documents.
The oldest text of the Old Testament
that survived, before the
discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls"
was said to be the Bodleian Codex
(Oxford), which was dated to circa
1100 AD. In an attempt by the
church to remove damaging Rabbinic
information about Jesus Christ
from the face of the earth, the Inquisition
burnt 12,000 volumes of
the Talmud.
In 1607, forty-seven men (some records
say fifty four) took two
years and nine months to re-write
the Bible and make it ready for
press. It was, by the order of King
James, issued with a set of
personal 'rules' the translators were
to follow. Upon its completion
in 1609, it was handed over to the
King James for his final approval.
However, "It was self evident
that James was not competent to check
their work and edit it, so he passed
the manuscripts onto the
greatest genius of all time... Sir
Francis Bacon"
