Small Souls
is an easy to use book of meditations and affirmations
for anyone wishing to develop a sense of spirit
in their child.
Visualisation and relaxation
are used to encourage children to focus on positive
thoughts and healing. Their imagination is stimulated
by using subjects they can easily relate to.
By developing self-esteem and
moral values, children are equipped to confront
everyday issues, even illness and emotional crisis
and for busy parents, reading one of the meditations
from Small Souls is shorter than a bedtime story,
and probably more effective.
These meditations are a simple
and useful way to create a bonding experience
with the child as they address every-day issues
and parents can choose what is appropriate for
their child.

" A collection of
wonderful meditations with insight into alleviating
anxiety and fears. The power of words and relaxing
travels take you to a quiet place of understanding
within."
- Gayle Edwards (mother)"
As a Behaviour Support Teacher,
we often incorporate calming strategies and visualisation
within our work. Roxannes meditations are
perfect!"

Roxanne
Paynter was born and raised in Tasmania Australia
and, in her late twenties, she gave birth to her
first child. Not knowing from one day to the next
if he would survive, she watched her son spend
the first few months of his life in intensive
care.
During this time, she had the
opportunity to discover how difficult it is with
a sick child, of any age. Roxanne knew her son
would be a little different, and she thought about
how she could make him feel good about himself,
as he grew older. She analysed the things that
would be most important to teach him and she discovered
these things to be love, self-esteem, and a connection
to spirit or purpose in life.
She then searched for a tool
that would help her pass these things on and found
nothing. She realised that meditation was the
simplest, most effective way to do this for many
reasons. Not only does the child benefit from
relaxation, and stimulating their imagination,
but also they are empowered to draw on their own
abilities. They learn that they are important
and that they have purpose.
Currently live in Queensland
with her husband and two children, Roxanne continues
to write for children, focusing on their sense
of spirit and helping them address the issues
that confront them.
