Peter Browne

PETER BROWNE was born in New Zealand and was educated in Australia. Afler graduation from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, he saw service in Malaya, Brunei, Borneo and Vietnam. During this time, he served as a Joint Intelligence Organisation Operative. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel to begin a new career in business. His last venture was as a ships master plying the Brisbane River and Moreton Bay on his 100ft ferry “The Mirimar”.

The Irrawaddy, his first novel, draws heavily on his military and boating background, which lends a great degree of authenticity to the narrative. He now lives in retirement on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland with his wife Larraine and their Jack Russell terrier, Pepper. Peter is a keen golfer and boatie and is active in various charities on the coast. He is also involved in radio broadcasting and acting with local community groups.

He is currently working on his next novel which is set in the outback of Australia.
