Since ancient time man has struggled to understand the abnormalities that plagued this universe. He sought order in his life and craved dependability in the structure of his beliefs. Comets flashed across the sky to communicate that the Gods were not happy. Slowly, Western Society convinced man to think in a different way. Over time, the drawing mystery of old ghost stories moved on to the Yowie, Bigfoot, UFO's, Crop Circles and other mysteries until today these are again being replaced with "conspiracy theory" tales such as who shot JFK in 1963, the fate of Princess Diana in 1997 or what happened at the WTC on 9/11, 2001.

Did you notice as a youngster, as I did, that when friends got together at parties or functions, the conversation often turned to things esoteric and mysterious, from re-hashing urban myths to the old colonial ghost stories. In these re-tellings, it was not always necessary to let the truth get in the way of a good story and actually, an entertaining storyteller was always the centre of attention at a bush barbeque or other event.
I have long held an interest in the mysterious and am pleased to now research some of these anomalies and record a fascinating new compendium of mystifying, thrilling and entertaining stories from Australia and abroad. Some of the chapters in Strange & Mysterious Anomalies involve my personal experiences, some have explanations, some do not, but all are there to bemuse and fascinate the reader. Many stories revolve around Bible theology because I am, after all, a theological archaeologist with daily involvement in this area, but there's lots of other stuff as well. Strange & Mysterious Anomalies takes the form of short chapters, pretty much unrelated to one another, and I hope readers find this format entertaining but also enlightening reading.
